By the end of 2018, the number of operators of the market for agricultural organic products in Ukraine will exceed 600, now there are 585, Interfax reports, citing the words of Elena Berezovska, President of the Union of Producers of Organic Certified Products “Organic Ukraine”.

This is an indicator that the organic market in the country is booming, and not so much inside as outside.

From the total sales of organic products, 90% supply abroad and only 10% are sold in Ukraine, Berezovskaya argues.

According to her data, the Netherlands, Germany and the United Kingdom buy most Ukrainian eco-products. In general, organic take more than 40 countries.

The most popular articles of organic exports are corn, wheat, barley, sunflower, soybeans, that is, mostly raw materials. Processors make up only 14% of all operators of the Ukrainian organic market.

At the same time, out of 80 processors, 55 sell their goods, more than 400 items in total, in the Ukrainian networks, and in 2018 these sales grew by 5%.

“Ukrainian organic novelties of this year are organic dumplings, as well as organic sugar,” concludes Berezovskaya.

As we wrote recently, certification of organic production in Ukraine will cost at least 15 thousand UAH.
