“Ukrzaliznytsia” together with “1991 Open Data Incubator” selected 10 start-up projects that will have to improve its work with digital solutions, “Delo” reports.
60 projects applied for participation in the program. Of 10 winners AgroDay selected 3 solutions that relate directly to freight traffic.
- UZ Air Guard will monitor the infrastructure of the “UZ” using unmanned technology, inspect branches, bridges and the state of the cars after unloading. According to the developers, the use of UAVs for surveillance will reduce thefts on the railway by 40%.
- With the help of Business Logic, “UZ” will be able to transfer all operational processes and objects, such as locomotives, stations, and customers, to the virtual environment. The digital system will simulate different situations and find the best strategies for each of them.
- The Prome Train system based on blockchain technology will create closed supply chains and minimize the risk of fraud. All cargo will be fitted with sensors that will track the entire path of the cargo in a single system.
UZ will provide mentors who will help start-up teams examine business processes on the railway and understand how to apply their innovations there. For this, “Ukrzaliznytsia” will open to the project developers the access to its databases and infrastructure.
In the future, UZ will hire the startupers to a separate department, or will cooperate with the company, which will be created by the project teams themselves. The leaders of Ukrzaliznytsia assure that the company usually allocates a budget for such purposes on special conditions.
As we wrote, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Agrarian Policy and Land Relations, and the agrarian business associations require, through the President of Ukraine, to reduce tariffs on freight rail transportation and to fire the Ukrzaliznytsia’s head Yevgeny Kravtsov.
