The agro holding “Myronivsky Hliboproduct” (MHP) is making plans to acquire vertically integrated company Perutnina Ptuj, which conducts business in South-Eastern Europe.
According to the company, this will bring it the additional value and strengthen its position as a global player. Along with this, Perutnina Ptuj receives a strategic long-term investor.
Perutnina Ptuj owns strong brands and a significant share in the market of the product with added value, noted in the MHP. And they add that they are ready to invest in its further development.
“Joint activities will bring direct benefits not only to local farmers and employees of Perutnina Ptuj, but also will positively affect the poultry industry in the Balkan region,” the Ukrainian chicken producer believes.
According to media reports, on September 25 MHP received permission to acquire the company from the Slovenian regulatory body.
By the way, Perutnina Ptuj has the capacity to grow chicken broilers in Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina. In general, it operates in 22 countries and cultivates 4 thousand hectares of farmland.
According to Interfax-Ukraine, in 2017 Perutnina Ptuj planned to sell its assets for € 270 million, while the liabilities were estimated at € 133 million.
