Prices for food can grow by 6-10% by the end of the year. Most vegetables will rise in price, in particular, a borscht set. Tomatoes, Bulgarian pepper will rise in price by 30-40%. But it is still difficult to predict when, namely, in December or in February.
Such forecasts were shared by Alexei Doroshenko, general director of the Ukrainian Association of Trade Network Suppliers in an interview with ZIK.
According to him, there is no reason for panic. For example, the harvest of grain is 3% less than last year, if we talk about the world level. Such a decrease in volumes does not lead to a rapid rise in price. It will slightly exceed inflation.
Sugar is likely to remain stable or rise in price not much. And the cost of butter will depend on the demand in the world market.
At the same time, the expert advises not to buy a lot of products at once, because due to the increase in demand, the price will also increase.
At a certain percentage, all prices will rise. The question remains open: will products be growing in price faster than the general level of inflation, Doroshenko concludes.
We recall that previously it was reported that the prices of vegetables in Ukraine were changing 3-4 times during the season.
