The Bayer company has opened a plant for seeds production in the village. Pochuyki, Zhytomyr region. This was reported page by the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on his Facebook page.
Construction of the plant started in 2014, and the volume of investment was $ 200 million. The seed plant will provide permanent work for 85 employees and seasonal work for another 220.
They will produce there high-quality corn seeds, which are divided into 5 fractions on the sorting line. The products will meet international standards.
We note that the company Monsanto was involved the construction of the factory. In December 2016 the company was acquired by a German chemical concern for $ 66 billion.
The plot of land for the construction of the plant in Pochuyki, also with the property complex, the company purchased from “Eridon”, the Ukrainian distributor of seeds and plant protection products.
As reported in the State Architectural and Construction Inspection, the construction of the plant was completed in February this year, a test launch was planned for August, and for September, the full-scale operation of the facility was planned.
The plant is equipped with the equipment of the German company Petkus, has a high level of computerization and automation of production processes. The area of the complex is 7,1 thousand square meters.
The production capacity initially will be about 375 thousand sowing units per year.
