Ukraine in January-July 2018 increased cheese imports by 30% compared to the same period last year. This is evidenced by the data of the State Fiscal Service.
more than 6,6 thousand tons of product is imported, mainly of European production.
Almost a third of the supply of cheeses for the specified period to Ukraine was provided by Poland. Another 22% was imported from Germany, 15% from France.
On average, a ton of imported product cost $ 4900. Ukraine exports its own products much cheaper, for $ 3700/t.
The main domestic exports go to Kazakhstan (46%), Moldova (26%) and Egypt (13%). In general, for this period, external supplies from Ukraine amounted to 4.6 thousand tonnes, or 6% less than in the first 7 months of 2017.
We recall that according to the estimates of the analytical company Pro-Consulting, the Ukrainian cheese market is now showing recovery after a downfall in 2015-16.
